If you could ask the special rapporteur on human rights defenders one question, what would it be?

Join us on 27th January at 4pm for a screening of Never Waste a Crisis, a short documentary film on how human rights are being undermined during the COVID19 crisis – particularly in countries with weak democracies and systemic human rights challenges. 

Screening is followed by a lively discussion and tips with producer Emmet Sheerin from Trócaire and climate activist and campaigner Alicia O’Sullivan covering the process of producing documentary films in an activism and education contexts.

This intimate and interactive event will include:

• A screening of the 20-minute documentary film Never Waste a Crisis as part of a national tour
• An opportunity to learn about the journey of a filmmaker – and put questions to them directly
• Exploring the power of documentary films and how they can be made by individuals and groups as teaching tools and as a process for learning and skills development
• Q&A format on how films can be made as part of campaigns on human rights issues
